Definition: Service Request


Service requests are frequently occurring, low risk, and low cost user requests.

The scope of service requests includes all frequent, lower risk, low cost user request that are received by the service desk. Scope of service requests management should cover all types of user requests not relating to a service disruption.

Benefit:The scale and frequent, low-risk nature means that the service requests are better handled by a separate pre-approved process (workflow), rather than being allowed to congest and obstruct the normal incident and change management processes.
